Restored and wired to work. Our range of original USA 500
series telephones has been restored to full working order
- the bodies have also been polished, bringing the telephone
almost back to its new condition. These phones will work
in every country and we always make sure the telephone is
delivered with the correct plug for your country's telephone
network (eg all telephones delivered here within the UK
are fitted with a standard BT plug). All telephones have
a 12 month guarantee. We also offer a full repair service.
Western electric, based in New York, was the manufacturing
arm of AT&T over a long period from 1881 to 1995. The "500"
phone first appeared in 1949 and updated over time, incorporating
new materials and taking advantage of new production processes,
however the classic shape remained. Beginning in the early
1950s, 500 phones were also made by ITT Kellogg (now Cortelco),
and Stromberg-Carlson (now part of Siemens). The authenticity
of the telephone you receive will be evident from the original
marking on the telephone of one of these three original
manufacturing brands. The 500 phone was discontinued in
1986, replaced by a button version. The Model 500 Phone
is a classic American telephone, becoming the most extensively-produced
telephone model in the industry's history. |
