This giant version of this well-known game is one of the
largest versions available and is great fun for all the
family. What's more, owing to its handmade wooden construction
it is very robust, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor
play. The most well-known version of this game is probably
Connect
4 from Hasbro, however the game actually came into
being some centuries earlier, known as "four in a row",
"four in a line" and "Captain's Mistress",
this last name supposedly being given by Captain Cook's
crew, owing to the amount of time Cook spent playing the
game during his long voyages.

Giant "4 in a Line" Game
In our opinion, this is the nicest
version of the game - they really are beautifully made,
and the red and yellow disks are wooden too. Comparing
this to the Jaques Giant Score 4 version, you will see
that this green wooden frame is more "open", in that it
shows more of the red and yellow, making it easier to
view the state of play. This game requires strategy, skill
and of course, some luck. Standing 120cm (47 inches) high,
this game is strikingly colourful and certainly makes
an impact. Made from painted wood for a long gaming life.
Players take turns to drop a disk down a column, aiming
to get four disks in a row, diagonally, horizontally or
vertically.
