Schau ins Land, the monthly audio magazine for intermediate to advanced speakers of German and those interested in German lifestyle, culture and travel.
It is not always easy to experience online what is essentially an "offline" course, consisting of paper publications and audio CDs, however our interactive demonstration will help give you a better idea of the sorts of themes covered, the usefulness of the vocabulary, and the language level to which you will be able to quickly aspire.

Hosted by veteran German broadcaster Axel Fitzke and edited by Tim Obojski and Franziska Unger, each monthly edition is an unbeatable combination of entertaining audio, rich annotation, and challenging learning material. Produced entirely in Germany by professional broadcasters and journalists, each monthly audiomagazine consists of an hour-long programme in German on CD (or audio cassette) packed with news, features, and interviews reflecting what's going on in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Tennis stars Boris Becker and Steffi Graf, politicians Helmut Kohl, Hans Dietrich Genscher, Gerhard Schroeder and Oskar Lafontaine and entertainer Herman Van Veen are among the fascinating people who have been profiled in Schau ins Land. You also get a magazine containing a word-for-word printed transcript of the program. Difficult words are highlighted in bold in the text and defined in an extensive (500 entries on average) German-English glossary. The glossary also contains explanations of tricky grammatical constructions and fascinating background notes that give you additional information about the people, places, and issues discussed in the program.
